BMP-1 variants

[edit]

and what is it doing here if there are already three BMP aricles?--Mrg3105 (talk) 01:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The list of BMP-1 variants/modifications by countries

[edit]

I think that this is a necessary article because the amount of different modifications based on BMP-1 chassis is large including variants developed in many foreign countries which used or still use BMP-1 IFV. To mention all these modifications in original BMP-1 article would cause its information overload and very huge size inconvenient to read and load.

Creating sub-pages

[edit]

As it stands, this article is extremely long and a bit of a monster. I'm proposing that the page be divided so that countries with a significant number of local variants get their own pages (IE Soviet BMP-1 Variants, Russian BMP-1 Variants etc., or pages for specific variant roles are created, and the variants are listed there (BMP-1 Reconnaissance Variants, BMP-1 Recovery Variants etc). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathon A H (talkcontribs) 02:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IMHO the best solution would be to create two sub articles out of this one: "Soviet/Russia BMP-1 variants" and "foreign BMP-1 variants". that way we can split the article roughly in half. Regards. - SuperTank17 (talk) 13:38, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
